Author Guidelines

The guidelines for writing articles for LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat are as follows:

  1. The submitted article must be an original scholarly work of the author that has never been published and is not currently under consideration or in the publication process in another journal or publication medium.
  2. The article must be relevant to the focus and scope of LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat, particularly studies and reports related to community service, community empowerment, community development, literacy development, education and training, social innovation, economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, religious and social empowerment, environmental awareness, institutional strengthening, and other activities that contribute to improving community capacity and welfare.
  3. Articles should describe community service activities that are based on real needs or problems faced by partners or target communities. The activities may involve educational, social, economic, technological, cultural, religious, environmental, or other relevant approaches.
  4. Articles must follow the editorial style and formatting requirements of LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat as specified in the official journal template.
  5. Authors are expected to present community service activities clearly, systematically, and academically, supported by relevant theoretical concepts and up-to-date references.
  6. Articles should demonstrate clear outcomes and contributions of the community service activities, including changes in knowledge, skills, behavior, capacity, productivity, institutional development, or other measurable benefits for the target community.
  7. Articles should provide information on the sustainability or follow-up of the community service program whenever applicable.

Article Structure

Articles submitted to LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat should be organized according to the following structure:

  1. Title;
  2. Author's Name, without academic degrees;
  3. Author's Affiliation;
  4. Author's E-mail Address;
  5. Abstract, maximum 300 words;
  6. Keywords, consisting of 3–7 words;
  7. Introduction;
  8. Methods of Community Service;
  9. Results and Discussion;
  10. Conclusion;
  11. Acknowledgments, if applicable;
  12. References.

Additional subheadings may be included according to the characteristics and methodology of the community service activity.

Content of the Article

1. Introduction

The introduction should explain the background and context of the community service activity, the problems or needs faced by the target community, relevant previous studies or community service activities, and the objectives of the program. The introduction should clearly demonstrate the urgency and relevance of the activity.

2. Methods of Community Service

This section should describe the methods and stages of implementing the community service activity. It should include information about the target community or partners, location and time of implementation, needs assessment, intervention or activity approach, stages of implementation, instruments or materials used, and methods for evaluating the outcomes of the activity.

3. Results and Discussion

This section should present the results of the community service activity and discuss them in relation to the problems, objectives, and relevant theories or previous studies. Authors should explain the changes, achievements, outputs, and benefits obtained by the target community. Tables, figures, photographs, or other relevant documentation may be included to strengthen the presentation of the results.

4. Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the main results and achievements of the community service activity. It should highlight the contribution and benefits of the program to the target community and, where relevant, provide recommendations for follow-up or sustainability.

5. Acknowledgments

Authors may acknowledge institutions, funding agencies, partners, community groups, or individuals who provided significant support for the implementation of the community service activity.

Language Requirements

Articles may be written in English or Indonesian, in accordance with the language policy and editorial style of LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat.

The language used must follow appropriate academic conventions and be clear, effective, consistent, and easy to understand. Articles written in English must use appropriate academic English with proper grammar, terminology, and scholarly style.

Manuscript Formatting

Articles submitted to LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat must comply with the following formatting requirements:

  1. Paper size: A4 (21 cm × 29.7 cm);
  2. Font type and size: follow the official journal template;
  3. Line spacing and page layout: follow the LIMAS article template;
  4. Article length: follow the journal's specified requirements and template;
  5. The manuscript must be systematically organized according to the community service article structure established by the journal;
  6. Tables and figures must be clearly presented, numbered consecutively, and accompanied by appropriate titles or captions;
  7. Photographs or documentation of community service activities may be included when relevant and should provide clear evidence of the implementation and outcomes of the program.

Authors are required to use the official LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat article template when preparing their manuscripts.

Reference Management

Articles submitted to LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat are recommended to use reference management applications such as:

  1. Mendeley;
  2. Zotero; or
  3. other reference management applications.

The citation and reference style used by the journal is APA (American Psychological Association).

Authors must ensure that all sources cited in the manuscript are included in the reference list and that all sources listed in the references are actually cited in the article.

References should be relevant to the topic of the community service activity and should preferably be obtained from credible and up-to-date scholarly sources, including peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, scientific proceedings, and other reputable scholarly sources.

Publication Ethics and Plagiarism

Authors are fully responsible for the originality, authenticity, and integrity of the submitted manuscript.

Articles submitted to LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat must be free from plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate citation, and other forms of publication ethics violations.

Authors must ensure that the manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to or under review by another journal.

All documentation, data, photographs, and information concerning community partners must be used ethically and with appropriate consent where required.

Article Submission

Articles must be submitted through the online submission system of LIMAS: Jurnal Literasi Masyarakat.

The submitted manuscript must include:

  1. Complete article file prepared according to the journal template;
  2. Author information, including the author's full name, affiliation, and e-mail address;
  3. Information about the community service partner or target community;
  4. Any other supporting information required by the submission system or the journal editor.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all information entered into the submission system is accurate and complete.
