Author Guidelines

The guidelines for writing articles for WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization are as follows:

  1. The submitted article must be an original scientific work of the author that has never been published and is not currently under consideration or in the publication process in another journal or publication medium.
  2. The article must be relevant to the focus and scope of WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization, covering studies in Islamic studies and civilization, Islamic thought, Qur'anic and Hadith studies, Islamic law, Islamic education, Islamic economics and finance, Islamic history and culture, Islamic philosophy, Islamic society, Islamic institutions, Islamic civilization, contemporary Islamic issues, and other relevant studies related to Islam and civilization. Studies may be theoretical, empirical, conceptual, historical, comparative, or developmental in nature and may employ interdisciplinary approaches relevant to contemporary Islamic and societal issues.
  3. Articles must follow the editorial style and formatting requirements of WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization as specified in the official journal template.
  4. Authors are expected to submit articles addressing current, relevant, and significant academic or societal issues related to Islam and civilization, supported by a strong theoretical foundation, demonstrating analytical depth, utilizing relevant and up-to-date references, and being free from plagiarism.
  5. Articles should make a clear academic contribution to the development of Islamic thought, theory, methodology, scientific knowledge, professional practice, public policy, community development, or innovation within the relevant field of study.

Article Structure

Articles submitted to WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization should be organized according to the following structure:

  1. Title;
  2. Author's Name, without academic degrees;
  3. Author's Affiliation;
  4. Author's E-mail Address;
  5. Abstract, maximum 300 words;
  6. Keywords, consisting of 3–7 words;
  7. Introduction;
  8. Research Methods;
  9. Results and Discussion;
  10. Conclusion;
  11. References.

Additional subheadings may be included according to the characteristics, methodology, and requirements of the article.

Language Requirements

Articles may be written in English or Indonesian, in accordance with the language policy and editorial style of WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization.

The language used must follow appropriate academic conventions and be clear, effective, consistent, and easy to understand. Articles written in English must use appropriate academic English with proper grammar, terminology, and scholarly style.

Manuscript Formatting

Articles submitted to WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization must comply with the following formatting requirements:

  1. Paper size: A4 (21 cm × 29.7 cm);
  2. Font type and size: follow the official journal template;
  3. Line spacing and page layout: follow the WASILA article template;
  4. Article length: follow the journal's specified requirements and template;
  5. The manuscript must be systematically organized according to the scientific article structure established by the journal.

Authors are required to use the official WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization article template when preparing their manuscripts.

Reference Management

Articles submitted to WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization are recommended to use reference management applications such as:

  1. Mendeley;
  2. Zotero; or
  3. other reference management applications.

The citation and reference style used by the journal is APA (American Psychological Association).

Authors must ensure that all sources cited in the manuscript are included in the reference list and that all sources listed in the references are actually cited in the article.

References should be relevant to the research topic and should preferably be obtained from credible and up-to-date scholarly sources, including peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, scientific proceedings, and other reputable scholarly sources.

Publication Ethics and Plagiarism

Authors are fully responsible for the originality, authenticity, and integrity of the submitted manuscript.

Articles submitted to WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization must be free from plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate citation, and other forms of publication ethics violations.

Authors must ensure that the manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to or under review by another journal.

Article Submission

Articles must be submitted through the online submission system of WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization.

The submitted manuscript must include:

  1. Complete article file prepared according to the journal template;
  2. Author information, including the author's full name, affiliation, and e-mail address;
  3. Any other supporting information required by the submission system or the journal editor.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all information entered into the submission system is accurate and complete.
