Plagiarism Policy

Articles submitted to WASILA: Journal of Islamic Studies and Civilization will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin software. The maximum similarity index permitted is 25%.

Plagiarism includes:

  1. Word for Word Plagiarism: using another author's words or language verbatim without placing them in quotation marks and without providing proper citation.
  2. Source Plagiarism: using another person's ideas, concepts, or work without giving appropriate acknowledgment or explicitly citing the source.
  3. Plagiarism of Authorship: presenting or claiming another author's work as one's own.
  4. Self-plagiarism: publishing the same or substantially similar work in more than one journal by recycling previously published material. When authors cite or reuse their own previously published work, the new article must contain substantial changes, developments, or additional contributions. The previous work should constitute only a small portion of the new article. This ensures that readers receive new information, analysis, or scholarly contributions, even when the new article is inspired by or builds upon previous publications.
